Udak Shanti and Ganga Puja is a sacred Hindu ritual performed for purification, peace, and spiritual harmony. The literal meaning of Udak Shanti is “peace through sacred water,” in which Vedic mantras are chanted over water to invoke divine energies and purify the surrounding environment. Ganga Puja is performed to honor and seek the blessings of the sacred river goddess Ganga, who is regarded as a symbol of purity and spiritual cleansing.

During this ritual, the sacred water is purified through the chanting of mantras and is then sprinkled around the house or at the place of worship. To create a spiritually pure and positive atmosphere, this ritual is often performed on important occasions such as fourteen days after the death of a family member for the peace and liberation of the departed soul, for purification of the home, and also during Grihapravesh, Vastu Shanti, or other religious ceremonies.
